Produced by the Kongo Coffee Company, this wonderful brew scores an impressive 82.5 by the Speciality Coffee Association. The SCA score is determined by evaluating ten different sections of the coffee, including fragrance/aroma, flavour, aftertaste, acidity, body, balance, uniformity, cleanliness, sweetness, and overall impression. Coffees that score 80 or above are considered to be of high-quality speciality grade. These beans, harvested from April to September come from Arusha, Bourbon, and Typica Arabica cultivars. PNG Coffee is processed using traditional wet method with drying done using ‘sails’, tarpaulins stretched out under the sun providing clean space for the beans to dry. This coffee includes a financial premium for the Jerry Kapka School Project. Kongo Coffee is owned by Jerry Kapka, who as tribal leader uses Kongo Coffee to employ, support and give back to his tribespeople.
