Mugwort Natural Herbal Tea Infusion For Menstrual PMT Loose Leaf Traditionally Grown

£3.50

Artemisia vulgaris as Mugwort is scientifically called is named after Artemis, the Greek Moon Goddess, protector of young maidens and children. Commonly found growing wild throughout Europe, Eurasia, and North America, it is one of mankind’s oldest cultural companion plant, going back to Neolithic tribes. It is an important ritual plant and healing plant. Culpepper has it, and I quote, “Three drams of the powder of the dried leaves taken in wine, is a speedy and certain help for the sciatica.” Mugwort’s greatest healing virtues are in its benefits for the female reproductive system. It can ease menstrual difficulties such as PMT, cramping and irregularity or weak menstrual flow. As it is such a powerful emmenagogue, it should be avoided during pregnancy. It should not be used when breast feeding. Mugwort also helps women during menopause. It is also used as a dream herb, either as a night cup or stuffed in a dream pillow. Culpepper advises making a teapot using boiling water and then letting it cool, even with a little sugar and milk, and drunk twice a day, more if required.

It goes without saying that if you're pregnant (or are under the doctor for anything) caution should be exercised with herbal decoctions.
