We have had quite a few customers approach us for a Pine Needle tea, so we have obliged and naturally selected Pine Needles from natural cultivation, without the use of artificial fertilisers or insecticides. These needles come from the Scots Pine, Pinus sylvestris, a native of the British Isles as well as ranging from northern Western Europe right across to eastern Siberia. Pollen evidence shows that the trees moved into southern England 9000 years ago but as the climate warmed, they became extinct except in Scotland and Kielder, in England. Interestingly over 50% of all the English Red Squirrels live in the 62,000-hectare Kielder Forest. It is said that there is over 4 times the amount of vitamin C in Pine Needles that in Orange Juice. Also full of Antioxidants, giving your immune system a massive boost. They also help with high cholesterol (as well as aiding weight loss), by helping against LDL Oxidation, by stopping LDL Cholesterol reacting with free radicals. Drinking this tea may well help with improving amnesia or memory impairment. Taoist priests regularly drink Pine Needle tea in the belief that it helps them live longer. It does have a pleasant aroma and nice taste.
It goes without saying that if you're pregnant (or are under the doctor for anything) caution should be exercised with herbal decoctions.
