We have sold Dandelion Leaves for a great many years; we’ve now found a reliable source for Naturally Grown Dandelion Root tea. Dandelion roots have often been used for making an erstwhile coffee, back in the 1970’s during a three-day week and power-cuts there was a massive coffee shortage, or rather an inability to get it into the country, so everybody had a go at making Dandelion root coffee. It was a complete failure and quite horrible, it tasted nothing like coffee, but it did keep me busy for a while as there was not a lot else to do during the miserable winter of 1974. Dandelions belong to the same family as Chicory, the Asteraceae family, Chicory roots are the third main ingredient in Camp Coffee, after Sugar and Water, so this is where probably where the idea came from. Anyway, Dandelion Root tea is great for being an excellent source of potassium, a mineral and electrolyte that stimulates the heartbeat. Potassium may help the kidney filter toxins more effectively and improve blood flow. The polysaccharides in Dandelion are known to reduce stress on the liver and support its ability to produce bile.

It goes without saying that if you're pregnant (or are under the doc for anything) caution should be exercised with herbal decoctions.
