Flores del Café is a Women’s Project Cooperative founded in 1996 and currently has more than 1,500 members. All the coffee is produced by the family owned farms, when harvested, it is immediately transferred to the Cooperative’s coffee collection centres, to avoid weight loss and fermentation. The Cooperative takes cleanliness seriously even down to the vehicles used to transport the coffee, as well as all the baskets and sacks. Flores del Café is committed to supporting its members through training, education, and technical assistance to improve sustainability. The Flores del café has helped the Women farmers to acquire a legal title to their land, usually ownership passes from fathers to sons, but this ownership has increased the quality of life for the families exponentially. The coffee is absolutely lovely as well.
