This Strictly High Grown coffee from 1250m is a wonderful find. Scoring 83.5 on the SCAA scale marks this as a very special Speciality. A mixture of Catuai, Caturra and Pacamara this Organic Soil Association, Rainforest Alliance and Fair Trade coffee is according to the blurb "creamy chocolate body, encased with sugar cane sweetness and toffee flavours outperform any of our expectations. Lashings of sweet caramel in the aroma, with a gentle cocoa aftertaste".
Strangely, I can find no information anywhere on who Ana Isabel Alvarado is and indeed why she graces the sack of this wonderful coffee. It appears that she may possibly be one the coffee pickers, perhaps selected due to her skills in collecting cherries at their optimum ripeness. The cherries are then sent to a centralised washing station for pulping, fully washing and drying. The coffee is marketed by COCAFELOL who have been working on behalf of its coffee producers providing technical and financial assistance as well as promoting sustainable agricultural practices.
