BPS stands for Broken Pekoe Souchong, this is a crop from just before the main growing season. Souchong leaves are slightly older and larger than the typical Orange Pekoe plucking. This gives the resulting brew a strong, ‘spicy’ full-bodied taste with a dark mahogany colour and quite heavily scented, beautifully refreshing. The ideal breakfast tea. These full tasting teas go well with milk or you may wish to try them with a slice of orange. The Mangalam Estate have introduced a new plantation structure. Old trees were removed and replaced with clonal seedlings planted close together in a grid system. No space is wasted, and plucking is more easily accomplished producing some excellent teas.
You will receive 110 grams of this tea for £5.00 this will allow you to make between 55 cups and 110 cups of tea. Two grams per cup, this works out between nine pence per cup and five pence per cup.
