Another new introduction from the Belseri Tea Gardens, located on the North Bank of the mighty Brahmaputra River. This CTC type of tea, Cut Torn Curled, makes a good quality inexpensive strong cup of tea. According to the ‘blurb’ we were sent regarding this tea it is, “A tea with an especially aromatic Assam cup and unmatched aroma. Full bodied yet elegant, for lovers of good tea.” Well you can see why we were tempted. Helen loved it and I got two infusions from it. I first brewed mine for four minutes with boiling water and had it without milk, Helen had hers with milk, we both thought it was fantastic. The Estate is also certified under Rainforest Alliance, UTZ and Fairtrade, ensuring good forestry practices and social welfare of workers. At Belseri, no copper fungicides are used and no micro nutrients allowed. Soil is rejuvenated by the application of 2000 tons of green compost matter and cow manure. Apparently, this compost has a microbial population of 1000 trillion per gram.
You will receive 75 grams of this tea for £5.00 this will allow you to make between 37 cups and 75 cups of tea. Two grams per cup, this works out between thirteen pence per cup and six pence per cup. We also sell larger quantities of this tea at a more economical rate; the price will therefore be lower.
