Earl Grey Decaffeinated Sencha Healthy Green Tea with Bergamot Oil

£2.50

Charles Grey, 2nd Earl Grey, being the second but eldest surviving son of General Charles Grey KB was Prime Minister for four years between 1830 and 1834. He backed significant reform of the British government and saw the abolition of slavery in the British Empire.

The first known published reference to an ‘Earl Grey’ tea are advertisements by Charlton & Co. of Jermyn Street, in the 1880’s. This would have been a Chinese black tea as opposed to our Chinese green tea. Needless to say decaffeination did not exist at that time.

This lovely and unusual brew also has orange and lemon peel included as well as natural bergamot flavouring.

I brewed it for two minutes at 80o C. and did this for both infusions, I suspect you could get another couple of infusions out of this but for me two was enough, I liked it, but admit to not being a massive Earl Grey fan.
