Assam Mangalam 2nd Flush Broken Pekoe Souchong Loose Leaf Black Tea Inexpensive Quality

£3.50

BPS stands for Broken Pekoe Souchong, this is a crop from just before the main growing season. Souchong leaves are slightly older and larger than the typical Orange Pekoe plucking. This gives the resulting brew a strong, ‘spicy’ full-bodied taste with a dark mahogany colour and quite heavily scented, beautifully refreshing. The ideal breakfast tea. These full tasting teas go well with milk or you may wish to try them with a slice of orange. The Mangalam Estate have introduced a new plantation structure. Old trees were removed and replaced with clonal seedlings planted close together in a grid system. No space is wasted, and plucking is more easily accomplished producing some excellent teas.
