In the most northern part of Vietnam in the Province Ha Giang, close to the Chinese border comes this fantastic traditionally cultivated Organic tea. This tea growing area consists of many family run small holder estates. Since 2012 this has all been under controlled organic cultivation. The Cao Bo Factory produces very good quality Organic black and green teas and starting in September 2015 has implemented practices for certification for Fair Trade status.
When brewed the resulting cup of tea, which comes from light brown evenly worked leaves with lovely golden leaf tips, tastes light and smooth and yet is still full-bodied and aromatic. The cup is a beautiful copper colour and is slightly floral with hints of caramel. I brewed this rather special tea at 100oC. for three minutes, adjust for personal preference.
