Dominican Republic Barahona Medium Roasted Whole Coffee Beans

£3.50

Coffee seeds first came from Martinique at the beginning of the 18th Century to Santo Domingo and despite suffering from many crises to the coffee industry including revolutions and extreme poverty has gradually made coffee production second only to tourism as an important economic factor. Dominican coffee as with other Caribbean Islands, produces a premium product rather than simply volume. This medium roasted certified coffee has been washed and then sundried. Barahona coffees tend toward a somewhat more acid and heavier-bodied cup, than other growing areas of Dominica, producing a cup closer to the better-known Jamaican and Puerto Rican coffees in both quality and characteristics.
