Ceylon Pettiagalla Estate Orange Pekoe A Traditional Tea That Can Take Milk Or Indeed Cream

  • This tea is from the Pettiagalla Estate in the Dimbula area of the Balangoda District and is one of the highest and most famous Tea Gardens in Sri Lanka.
  • It is only picked between September and November.
  • The tea leaf is long, black and twisted making it quite unmistakable.
  • This is one of the most popular teas in France; apparently in my “big book of teas”, it is said, "they go mad for it because it looks nice".
  • This is a traditional afternoon tea. The two principal growing areas of Sri Lanka are Uva to the east and Dimbula to the west of the island.
  • This Ceylon Black Tea when prepared with boiling water makes a dark red colour with a highly aromatic and simultaneously mild taste whilst still retaining its spicy and slightly malty characteristics.
  • You will receive 80 grams of tea for £5.00 this will allow you to make about 40 cups of tea. Two grams per cup, this works out at twelve pence per cup.
  • At Gently Stirred every order is gift wrapped so if you're buying for a number of different people just add that information at checkout.
