The Nuwara Eliya District may not be the principle growing area of Sri Lanka but the teas are always high quality. This tea has a medium body with a piquant Ceylon character and a fabulous flavour.
Lover's Leap is considered to be one of the best Tea Gardens in Ceylon. The peak-growing season is February/March when the weather is at its best, cool nights, dry weather and warm sunny days.
The top elevations of Lover's Leap are very often in the clouds and at the peak you can look down onto the top of the clouds and up into brilliant sunshine and clear blue skies.
A large cliff in the garden gives the estate it’s name for it is where jilted lovers or lovers not allowed to marry would jump from.
