Ceylon Aislaby Garden Uva District Broken Orange Pekoe High Grown A wonderfully Rounded Traditional Tea

£5.00

Uva is one of the main three growing areas of Sri Lanka formally known as Ceylon. The Aislaby Estate was established in 1928 in the heart of the Uva tea district, in the sheltered Malwatte Valley. The Malwatte Valley Plantation PLC is made up of 17 Tea Gardens situated in three Agro Climatic Districts.

Amongst tea of the higher elevations of Sri Lanka, the high Uva Mountains are subjected to long periods of drought and therefore tea in these areas are subject to the greatest levels of ultraviolet radiation. Teas from these areas, therefore, have the greatest content of antioxidant properties.

The Broken Orange Pekoe makes an excellent cup of tea, especially if you prefer your tea to have good strength and takes milk well. This is a traditional tea and enjoyed by the traditional British palate.

I brewed this infusion for three minutes at 100oC and it is a lovely aromatic tea, personally I think it is more of a breakfast tea but there is no reason why you couldn’t enjoy it any time of the day.

You will receive 100 grams of tea for £5.00 this will allow you to make between 50 and 100 cups of tea. Two grams per cup, this can be re-infused a few times. This works out at between ten pence and five pence per cup. We also sell larger quantities of this tea at a more economical rate, the price per cup will therefore be lower.

At Gently Stirred every order is gift wrapped so if you're buying for a number of different people just add that information at checkout.
