Uva is one of the main three growing areas of Sri Lanka formerly known as Ceylon. The Aislaby Estate was established in 1928 in the heart of the Uva tea district, in the sheltered Malwatte Valley. The Malwatte Valley Plantation PLC is made up of 17 Tea Gardens situated in three Agro Climatic Districts.

Amongst tea of the higher elevations of Sri Lanka, the high Uva Mountains are subjected to long periods of drought and therefore tea in these areas are subject to the greatest levels of ultraviolet radiation. Teas from these areas, therefore, have the greatest content of antioxidant properties.

The Broken Orange Pekoe makes an excellent cup of tea, especially if you prefer your tea to have good strength and takes milk well. This is a traditional tea and enjoyed by the traditional British palate.
