This is a Bio-dynamically grown, Fair-Trade Certified, shade-grown, Swiss Water Process decaffeinated green coffee roasted to a high level giving a wonderful fresh strong taste.
It works well whether being used as an Espresso or filter or with a Cafetiere. It is a multi-origin blend of coffees selected for consistency in quality and availability.
The original Swiss Water process involved leaving a sack of green beans in a stream until the caffeine had ‘washed out’. Now it is done in a factory. The peculiar dark colour to the un-roasted beans is caused by washing them in decaffeinated ‘coffee water’ to maintain the taste.
