Chinese Fujian Anxi Jin Xuan Tie Guan Yin Milk Oolong Tea Speciality Rare Hand Rolled

£3.50

We are pleased to add a new Milk Oolong to our range. A naturally grown tea without the use of artificial fertilisers or pesticides. Gradually tea growers are starting to realise that there is a great market for naturally grown and where possible Fair Trade teas.

This selected organic Tie Guan Yin is the basis for this stunning milk and vanilla flavoured green tea. The taste is sweet, light and long-lasting, an all-round winner.

Milk teas originated in Formosa and are produced by hand, immediately after withering, the still moist leaves are heated in steam from milk within which vanilla pods have steeped. This helps the leaves to retain their lovely colour. as well as character. Only slight oxidation is performed on these leaves and then the still supple tea is manually rolled and then gently dried. Milk Oolong is still a rarity and due to the high amount of skill required in producing this delightful tea it is still quite expensive, but well worth it.

I would brew at slightly lower than normal Oolong brewing temperatures, I did mine at 75oC steeping it for three minutes, a wonderful drink and one of Helen's all-time favourites.
