Young Hyson Green Chinese Loose Leaf Tea Healthy Living and Great Taste

In the 17^th and 18^th centuries, teas exported from China were predominantly green. They were called curious names, most of which have now disappeared, such as Young Hyson, Bing, Caper, and Twankay, (after which Gilbert and Sullivan’s Widow Twankay was named).

Hyson is a Chinese description meaning before the rains and refers to the time when the new shoots are picked. It is remarkably similar to Chun Mee and Gunpowder in both its looks and taste. It is slightly smoother than the Chun Mee and has a slightly less smoky note than the Gunpowder.
