The initials of this outstanding tea mean Finest Tippy, Golden Flowery, Orange Pekoe. The Grade 1 means this is one of the highest quality teas available. This organic tea estate was bought by the KPL International Group in 2008. It sits at a high altitude of Rungbong valley in Darjeeling with elevation varying between 2200 to over 5500 feet. It is one of the few gardens in Darjeeling that has a perennial source of water. About 60% of tea produced in the garden are chinary and chinary clonal bushes and the remaining are mostly hybrid type. The average production in its factory is 60,000 - 70,000 kg per year. This premium quality Darjeeling was picked in June and produces a slightly malty amber coloured infusion. Five hundred workers live on the estate with their families, in small houses decorated with orange trees and flowers.
