This is as close to the Fujian Pai Mu Tan as you can get. The tea trees that produce this White Peony are from seeds collected from the Fujian Bu Dan bushes. They were first planted in this district in 1926 making them over 90 years old. They are grown in conditions that are as close as one can get to the terroir of Fujian and the phenomenal health properties that this tea imparts are just as great as the traditional Pai. The Satemwa Estate as well as being organic is also Fair Trade Certified. Amongst the many health-giving properties this tea imparts due the very high levels of antioxidants are the boosting of the cardiovascular system, lowering of cholesterol, reducing the risk of cancer and enhancing weight loss.
Personally, I love this superb white tea and would recommend it to everyone, even if you don't like tea! It is important to get the preparation correct, I brewed this tea at 80oC for three minutes and it produces a lovely bright refreshing cup.
