Nicaragua Finca Santa Luz Rainforest Alliance Dark Roast Coffee Strong Bodied And Wonderful


  • The Santa Luz coffee farm is found four kilometres North-east of the small town of El Tuma, based in the mountains of Matagalpa and has been Rainforest Alliance certified since 2003. 
  • Coffee growing started in this area of Matagalpa in early 1920’s when a new road connected the then village of El Tuma with the big City of Matagalpa.
  • Finca Santa Luz covers 158 hectares, of which 97 are dedicated to coffee. There are a total of 127 hectares suitable for coffee and the rest are woodlands and administrative areas.
  • The altitude of the coffee plants at Santa Luz are between 700 and 900 meters above sea level, therefore, producing Strictly High Grown (SHG) coffee: smooth and well balanced.
  • The farm has built its own ecological processing plant which produces this very good quality coffee.
  • This lovely coffee bean has responded very well to dark roasting and is a lovely strong cup and great depth with a sweet after-taste.
  • You will receive 85 grams of these roasted beans for £5.00 this will allow you to make 17 cups of coffee. Five grams per cup, the quantity of coffee used will be quite personal so these are guidelines only. This works out at less than twenty-nine pence per cup.
