Ethiopian Yirgacheffe Negele Gorbitu Fair Trade Organic Dark Roast Coffee Good And Strong

  • Founded in 1995 the Negele Gorbitu Cooperative comprises of nearly 1,000 producers.
  • Most Ethiopian Co-ops use traditional organic farming methods but Negele Gorbitu with the help of Oromia Coffee Farmer’s Cooperative Union helped with the funding for both Fair Trade and Organic Certification.
  • This certification has enabled them to implement investments in a school for over 300 students as well as a medical facility.
  • At 1,960 meters above sea level, Negele Gorbitu is in a prime location to produce a classical Yirgacheffe with good citrus tones and the characteristic bergamot finish.
  • The coop operates two washing stations and consistently turns out high quality coffee.
  • The berries are hand-picked and only the best are selected.
  • We have chosen to Dark Roast this coffee as it responds particularly well to this treatment, producing a pronounced sweetness and still retaining some floral notes, but with great strength.
  • You will receive 95 grams of these roasted beans for £5.00 this will allow you to make 19 cups of coffee. Five grams per cup, the quantity of coffee used will be quite personal so these are guidelines only. This works out at less than twenty-six pence per cup.
  • At Gently Stirred every order is gift wrapped so if you're buying for a number of different people just add that information at checkout.
