El Salvador El Borbollon Santa Ana Simply Superb Coffee Whole Medium Roast Beans

  • El Borbollon is the name of a mill just outside the town of Santa Ana.
  • Santa Ana is the El Salvador’s second largest city 64 kilometres from San Salvador.
  • This coffee comes from one of the many small family run Fincas and haciendas found on the slopes of the Santa Ana volcano.
  • The owner of the mill is Eduardo Alvarez.
  • His family originally immigrated to El Salvador from Colombia more than 100 years ago, and several generations have continued the coffee farming tradition.
  • I will give you a few quotes, first a description of this wonderful coffee, “…it has a round, supple, medium acidity, a full body, semi sweet chocolate and black cherry flavour and a smooth sweet cocoa finish”.
  • Second, to quote a Michelin Star Chef, “I was blown away”. That probably says it all, however a fellow roaster and I both think it is “simply superb”.
  • You will receive 90 grams of these roasted beans for £5.00 this will allow you to make between 18 and 36 cups of coffee depending on cup size. Five grams per cup, the quantity of coffee used will be quite personal so these are guidelines only. This works out at between twenty-seven and thirteen pence per cup.
  • At Gently Stirred every order is gift wrapped so if you're buying for a number of different people just add that information at checkout.
