Yunnan is the largest coffee growing region in China producing 95% of China’s entire coffee harvest. This organically cultivated coffee uses the waste skins and pulp as fertiliser. The farm is currently applying for Fair Trade status. The Village of Fengmi is close to Duogu Shangcun airport, should you be interested. It is said that China is now producing more coffee than Kenya and Tanzania combined and is still goring at a tremendous rate. Coffee consumption in China has become very big business, but is typically controlled by the Big Four, (not the Gang of Four, different thing) who favour profit over flavour. Good to see a farm taking care to produce great quality whilst having a concern about their workforce and ethical production.
