The Daterra Farm was founded in 1976, Daterra is Portuguese meaning ‘from the earth’. Over the years this company has outperformed all other Brazilian farms in their pursuit of sustainable agriculture, being the first farm in Brazil to become Rainforest Alliance certified. They are the winner of the prize “Prêmio Fazenda Sustentável 2015” by Globo Rural, Brazil’s major agricultural magazine, as the most sustainable farm in the country. This particular coffee is a single variety, small farm, organically grown bean that is known as a ‘Nano-lot’ due to the limited availability, it scores incredibly high and is identified as Lot DT01 Cedro Branco. The beans are semi-washed (pulped) and came from yellow cherries, the beans are then patio dried. We have had these medium dark roasted and are quite exquisite.
You will receive 60 grams of these roasted beans for £5.00 this will allow you to make between 12 and 24 cups of coffee, depending on cup size. Five grams per cup, the quantity of coffee used will be quite personal so these are guidelines only. This works out at between forty-one pence and twenty pence per cup. We also sell larger quantities of this coffee at a more economical rate, the price per cup will therefore be lower.
